This tangy pear porridge is the perfect warming breakfast for a cold morning. You can easily prepare it in 15 minutes. It is also vegan and gluten-free.
Why you should try the porridge with pears
There is nothing more delicious on a chilly autumn and winter morning than a bowl of hot porridge.
Preparing this spiced pear porridge couldn’t be easier, and the combination of fresh sweet pears, a hint of spice and maple syrup is just so delicious!

What do you need for the creamy pear porridge?
Porridge/Oats:
- 40 grams of rolled oats
- 1 banana
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 450 ml milk (oat milk)
Pears:
- 1 pear
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- maple syrup
- water
- 2 tbsp pecans
How to make the breakfast porridge
- Blend all the ingredients for the oats in a blender.
- Now place the oat mixture in a small saucepan and heat over medium-high heat. Stir occasionally so it doesn’t burn.
- In the meantime, wash, core and dice the pear.
- Heat the pears together with the cinnamon and a sip of water in a coated pan and simmer for 3-5 minutes until the pears are nice and soft.
- Now add some maple syrup and the pecans to the pears and continue to simmer for 1 more minute.
- Pour the warm porridge into 2 bowls and top with the caramelized pears.
