This apple tart recipe with puff pastry is easy to prepare and the vegan coconut and almond cream gives it a particularly delicious taste!
Well, my friends, I actually had something completely different in mind during my baking experiment. However, when my attempt failed, I suddenly stood in my kitchen on Saturday morning with a delicious coconut and almond cream and a hungry stomach. After a quick look into the fridge, I knew exactly what to do: Apple tart with puff pastry and vegan coconut and almond cream. Just the imagination made my mouth water! So the puff pastry was quickly spread and covered with apple slices and off it went into the oven. The scent from the baking tart already convinced me! And of course the taste too 🙂
It’s such an easy apple tart recipe that you can have for breakfast, with coffee, or for dessert. Although apple tart is a typical dish for autumn, you can eat this tartan year long topping it with all sort of fruits. The cream can be mixed together the day before, so you can prepare the apple tart even faster. In my recipe, I divide the puff pastry into rectangles to bake some single small tarts. However, you can prepare a large tart made of one whole puff pastry dough – it’s just as delicious!
I definitely recommend sprinkling the hot tart with grated chocolate. There’s nothing like melted chocolate! Especially in combination with apples and this delicious cream – it is a perfect match! So I hope I got you guys excited and you like the recipe as much as I do.

Ingredients for your apple tart recipe with puff pastry
For the coconut and almond cream:
- 1 can of coconut milk (chilled)
- 150 g ground almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
Also:
- 1 package of puff pastry (fresh)
- 1-2 apples (thinly sliced)
- Almond slivers for sprinkling
- Chocolate chips for sprinkling

How to make apple tart
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan oven). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Now prepare the coconut and almond cream. To do this, skim off the solid part of the coconut milk from the can and mix with the ground almonds, cinnamon, sugar and salt to mix a spreadable mass (preferably with a mixer).
- Roll out the puff pastry, cut into rectangles and place on the baking paper. I made about 6 rectangles. But you can also make one big tart.
- Place the coconut and almond cream on the puff pastry rectangles and spread it, leaving the edge free.
- Wash and dry apples and cut into thin slices. Arrange in a fan shape on the tarts.
- Sprinkle almond flakes on top.
- Bake the tarts at 180ºC for about 15-20 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown. Sprinkle the hot apple tart with chocolate chips and enjoy!
